The information below is intended as a resource only

If you or your roommate has COVID-19

  • People with COVID-19 symptoms (link), their roommates and close contacts are encouraged to self-isolate – limit use of shared spaces as much as possible.
  • If possible, designate a separate bathroom for roommates with COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact and face-to-face interactions with other residents and U-Square Staff.
  • Follow guidance on when to stop isolation (link).
  • Encourage anyone who visits to follow recommended precautions (link) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Anyone who has been in close contact (i.e., less than 6 feet (2 meters) with a person who has confirmed or suspected COVID-19 should monitor their health and call their healthcare provider if they develop symptoms suggestive of COVID-19.
  • Avoid using public transportation, ride-sharing, or taxis. Follow guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting any transport vehicles. 





PREVENTION & PREPARATION

During COVID-19



  • Wash your hands often
  • Maintain physical distance of 6 feet when possible
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Get adequate rest
  • Eat healthy and stay hydrated
  • Wear a mask or face covering (MN Executive Order 20-81)
  • In indoor public or common areas of the building, including hallways
  • Masks are NOT required in individual residences/apartments
  • Some people are not able to wear masks due to medical conditions, psychological conditions, and/or disabilities

Social Setting Information

  • Outdoor gatherings 25 people or less
  •  Indoor gatherings 10 people or less
  • Masks are recommended if the indoor gathering includes people who you do not live with
  • Outdoor Events & Entertainment 250 (or under)
  •  *Would often need a plan & City approval
  •  *e.g. concerts, demo derby, parades…..
  • Gyms & Fitness Studios 6 feet of distance, max 25% occupancy
  • Pools 6 feet of social distance, max 50% occupancy

     You are also encouraged to do the following:

 

  • Keep up to date lists of medical conditions and medications
  • Have an adequate supply of prescription and over the counter medication
  • Screen for COVID 19 symptoms daily and seek medical care when recommended
  • Link to COVID-19 Self-Assessment - Minnesota State University, Mankato
  • Consider establishing a relationship with a local health care provider
  • Have a 1 or 2 week supply of food
  • Have cleaning supplies
  • Keep a couple of extra masks on hand
